Link Lovin’ Saturday

But, first a plea, to my fellow Wordpress users: if your name doesn’t link back to your blog when you leave comments you can sort this out with very little fuss simply by going to your profile, scrolling down and entering the URL of your blog into the “website” box. Perhaps it’s natural modesty on your part but I would strongly encourage you to put it aside, for the sake of other readers and, most importantly, for me. Mainly because I’m an idiot, you can have no idea how long it takes me to join the dots sometimes.

Anyway, here are some fantastic links.

I guess the most exciting news on the horizon is the Revitalisation of Onyxia. I am kind of excited, I must admit, although I’m a hopeless weather-vane for different opinions when they come from people I respect. So what we have here is a kind of informal blogging face-off between the WOOs and the BOOs, with me in the middle going “but it’s cool” “no, you’re right, it’s silly” “but it’s cool” “not you’re right, it’s silly”. And so on, endlessly.

In the blue corner, among many others, we have: Mr Pew Pew and Kahleena. And representing the red corner, we have DDK and 2fps. Gah, I don’t know what to think.

I don’t normally post links to raid content because it tends to go over my head (waaaay over my head) but Chas recently discovered Need Healer Plz and read this post on the new raid aloud to me. And I nearly died. And, remarkably, I actually understood what was happening! There needs to be MOAR of this. The whole thing is massively massively quotable but I’ll leave you with a teaser highlight to encourage you to go over there and pour on the love like babyoil:

Two jormungers!! These dudes spawn pretty quickly – Deathface first and Acidbutt next (those aren’t the actual names, but Death-something and Acid-something are.) Tanks need to face them away from the raid at all times. Our strategy was to burn down Acidbutt first (to the death), then kill Deathface. I had read somewheres that the one in the ground might have some sort of damage reduction thing, but we didn’t find that to be the case. Other guilds with shittier healers and tanks than ours (or er, those just starting out?) may want to do it a better way – take Deathface down to low health (like 10%?), then kill Acidbutt, then kill Deathface. Reason for this is that when one dies, the other enrages and does extra damage and crap. Our tanks and healers are superlEEt, so we were all able to stay alive with one enraged Deathface.

Speaking of raids, Beru recently acquired the Hammer of Ancient Kings. I am awed.

And finally because I’m going to Edinburgh in a couple of weeks and, therefore, don’t have time to grow one of my very own (with all the attendant hugging and loving), I’ve been living vicariously through Kiryn Look at the cuuuuuuuute baby ravasaur! And look it agaaaaaaain! I am so envious I can’t even begin to express it.
