Something has been bugging me for a while. Seriously, check this out. In case the context isn’t clear, this is up there in mountains of Icecrown – it’s a camp of dark cultists upon whom you are sent daily to lay the smackdown by some douche from the Argent Tournament.

But check it out. Arthas has corrupted the penguins! The penguins! They’re hanging back a bit, trying to look casual, but they’re clearly part and parcel of the dark cultist enclave.
So, yeah, remember you heard it here first folks: you may have thought you were done with the beasts of Northrend, but the worst is yet to come.
Okay, assuming you haven’t fled in mortal terror to gear up for the penguin assault, here’s a bunch of groovy links.

A typically fabulous post from Keredria about how to be more assertive as a healer. I think the main consequence of trying to put her rules into practice have basically led to me sound snippy rather than tankly but, hey, I’m trying. In the middle of a PUGed daily the other day, someone requested that a damage meter be linked to which I responded: “If you want to analyse your performance, get yer own damn damage meter.” It didn’t do much good though, since someone else obligingly linked the dreaded numbers. Gah!
A couple of genuinely touching posts about the importance of people in the game, over at The Barrens Chat and High Latency Life. Both very lovely, very necessary posts (although aliens have clearly abducted our cynical Rivs).
As an antidote to all the love in the air, there’s a spiffing rant about arrogant idiots over at The *Urnaks. All I really have to say in response is, well, “yes, yes, yes,” but in the sense of emphatic agreement, rather than actual orgasm. I really hate dealing with these sorts of players.
Giggles over Sideshow and Syrana – take note, wannabe WoW Lotharios, Goldshire is not a date for classy chicks.
And finally at the risk of starting another endless cycle of link, I really liked this post from Rhii over at I Sheep Things about shifting your in-game focus. I mean, I always find the whole “what is your main” question is more complex than it ought to be – nostalgically I conceive of my main as being the first druid I rolled but in terms of sheer investment, emotional and otherwise, I guess I should probably bite the bullet some day and admit it’s Tam here. I think embracing change, and making changes, is a very brave thing to do in WoW – especially because so much of the game is built around pattern and repetition.
Also, here is general link love for a blog I’m really enjoying that I’ve only recently discovered (stupid me) – Grimtooth’s Troops.

Penguins are little evil creatures under the orders of the Lich King. They roam Northrend in flocks and look harmless, but that’s just part of their plan. They’re waiting for LK to raise his cold and bony butt from the Frozen Throne to unsleash their attack on the poor unsuspecting travelers. And then… then… oh the horror!!
@Kurnak – yeah, hasn’t anyone seen the 2nd Tim Burton Batman movie? Put missiles on ‘em and you have yourself a party!
Haha, I’d watched this quite recently actually (while fishing in Azshara) – so maybe that’s why I was clued up =P

Still, at least we can see them showing a flash of their true colours (black, white and EVIL) here…
